So school is here again and there are few things I hate more than my binder falling apart towards the end of the year and having to go back to school the following semester with that same stinkin' binder. So I decided it was my last year in high school and I was going to have a decent binder dang it!
All you need to make a fabric covered binder is a cheap binder, 1/4 yards of fabric, and Mod Podge (oh, and a tape measure and scissors too!). PS If you are a crafty person I HIGHLY recommend buying Mod Podge. The stuff is amazing.
First you will need to cut the clear, plastic sleeve off of the binder
and I mean ALL of it.Next measure out two pieces of fabric that are 10 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches. The measurement for the spine of the binder I bought was 11 1/2 by 1 1/2.
Next you will need to paint the first side of the binder with Mod Podge (make sure you cover the whole front) and press the fabric on top. Do the same to the spine and the back of the binder, then let it dry!
PS If you want to paint a layer of Mod Podge over the cloth that is totally cool, it will make it nice and shiny! I decided not to do this though because I liked the fact that it feels soft :)
Ta-da! Now you have a much cuter and more durable binder! Hope you had a great first week of school!
